Storage Management
Autonomy Records Management has evolved advanced storage architecture in support of highly configurable storage management functionality. Autonomy Records Management's storage management capabilities have been developed in response to a specific need, which is to allow administrative control over which physical devices the individual items of content reside on. This includes:
- Migration across a range of devices in response to time and events
- Maintaining multiple copies of any item of content on different devices
- Using devices that are shared among all content servers
- Migration across a range of devices allows installations to deploy a range of heterogeneous storage devices and to control which content resides on which type of device at any specific time, in support of business storage policy
- The combination of maintaining multiple copies of items and using shared devices provides resilience, both against the possibility of failure of a specific device and against the failure of a content server
Storage Management Features:
- Disaster recovery/business continuity support
- Rules-based storage
- Standard Mass Storage Devices Support (SAN, NAS)
- Specialized storage devices (ex. Centera) Support
- Long term storage media Support
- Short-term storage media Support
