Manage In Place
ControlPoint provides the flexibility for users to manage records in place without the need to move the information; alternatively, information can be moved into the Autonomy archive, based on the needs of the business. This greatly reduces storage costs by eliminating the need to license costly SQL servers and alleviates the strain on network resources. The Autonomy SharePoint client makes it easy to move content from SharePoint document libraries into the Autonomy archive while leaving a Smart Shortcut behind. After migration, Autonomy manages the storage lifecycle of the SharePoint content moving it from top tier storage, through to lower cost storage, based on the rules provided by the organization’s strategy.
