Cost-effective Centralized Repository
Users can also choose to move records to a centralized repository instead of managing the content in place in respective source repositories. The Autonomy SharePoint client makes it easy to move content from SharePoint document libraries into the Autonomy repository while leaving a Smart Shortcut behind. This migration ensures that content is still accessible directly from the source SharePoint document libraries and, as a result, the end user has a seamless experience and can continue to access the content from the location they expect, protecting the context of the content. After migration, Autonomy manages the storage lifecycle of the SharePoint content moving it from top tier storage, through to lower cost storage, based on the rules provided by the organization’s Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) strategy. This greatly reduces storage costs by eliminating the need to license costly and non-scalable SQL servers.
