The Government, Defense, Security, Intelligence and Public sectors face new challenges and ever increasing demands for business improvement. The need for better accountability, the requirement to deliver more services to the public electronically and the introduction of the Freedom of Information Act have given enterprise document and records management an increasing priority. Government departments are required to become more transparent to the public and more effective and efficient year on year. Meridio is playing a leading role in helping Government departments achieve these challenging goals by ensuring that the right information is accessible by the right people whether that is for internal business processes or to meet new Government compliance & legal requirements.

Organizations that are using Meridio in the Government sector include:

Causeway Project (NI Criminal Justice)
Collaboration between government organizations, secure sharing of information and more efficient, faster business processes are contributing to major improvements in performance by Criminal Justice organizations. Meridio is at the heart of the £35 million (U.S. $63.8 million) 10-year Causeway Program, a joint public sector undertaking driven by the U.K. Northern Ireland Office (NIO) with the objective of improving business processes in the criminal justice system. When Causeway is complete, all information used by the criminal justice system will be captured once and immediately made available to those who need it.

The Causeway Programme is a joint undertaking by the criminal justice organizations in Northern Ireland. It aims to improve the administration of criminal justice through the development of new ways of working and better information systems. Click here to view the case study.

Croatian Justice System
A Case publications system was considered essential for the modern functioning of the Croatian Justice System and in 2003 the Supreme Court commissioned a system from Fujitsu Services (now BCC Services). High performance enterprise Document and Records Management (eDRM) software was needed to provide a secure repository of all case documents. Meridio’s award winning system was chosen as the software that best met the needs of the project. The implementation of the system received financial support from the European Union and expert advice was given from the Asser Institute of the Netherlands. The system was designed to be centralized at the Supreme Court with web access at country and municipal courts across Croatia.

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Croatia ensures the uniform application of laws and equal justice to all citizens. It discusses all important legal issues arising from the court practice and hears appeals against decisions first given by the county courts. Click here to view the case study.

UK Ministry of Defense (MoD)
The MoD needed an eDRM that would be an integral element of the Defense Information Infrastructure program, and would replace numerous individual information systems throughout the MoD with a single, more efficient information infrastructure. Meridio will be the information backbone providing seamless information flow between units to support joint operations and meet the MoD’s goal of revising business processes.

At the same time as meeting the MoD’s business goals, Meridio will satisfy the MoD’s key technical requirements in security and scalability. Meridio provides document and records security to exceed the needs of the most demanding agency within the MoD. The deployment flexibility of Meridio is necessary for a global organization like the MoD.

The MoD is the United Kingdom government department responsible for implementation of government defense policy and the headquarters of the British Armed Forces. The principle objective of the MoD is to defend the United Kingdom and its interests. The MoD also manages day to day running of the armed forces, contingency planning and defense procurement.
